for everyone

Meet Survivor

Some of the neighborhood kids brought their rescued ducky over so we popped her in the bucket for a swim.  The kids plan to keep the motherless duck for about 7 weeks then release her back into the wild.

Then a girl donated her Barbie pool for the venture

We got new patio furniture for the front porch.  Our 12 year old set collapsed (exceeded the weight limit I think).  Found this set at Albertson's.  It's just like the one on our back patio, (except different pattern on the cushions) same manufacturer out of China.  It was just about half the cost of what I paid at Target for the other set three years ago.  And I thought the price on the other set was great too.  We had to assemble the one from Target but this one the guy from Albertson's offered free delivery.  When Tom told him we lived in Utah he didn't blink an eye.  Of course just kidding, we only live about 4 miles down the road.  I wanted to see about getting new cushions for the back set but when I went on line I found out that I would have to buy a 40 ft shipping container of them.  Not!!!

So even with the new set some people decided to sit on the ground too.  Our front porch became the gathering spot last night.  Everyone out on a walk with their baby strollers stopped in and we got to admire the cute little ones.  Plus a bunch of kids and parents just hung out talking until dark.  Then another friend and us sat out on the back patio and talked till about 11:30 P.M.  I put on some bug repellant and lit the citronella candle but it was a calm night and Tom got a couple of mosquito bites.

I can't get over the neighborhood you live in. It's like "Wonderland, USA" where kids can go walking around the neighborhood and fish and play safely. Where the adults in the neighborhood actually get together and are neighborly...

Yes, in the words of Mr. Rogers, "It's another beautiful day in the neighborhood."
